Description

The Côte-Rôtie Brune & Blonde de Guigal is a classic of the maison and the denomination, considered the archetype of the fine and refined expression of the Côte-Rôtie. The result of careful selection and assembly by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, it represents the consistency and excellence of the wines of the Collection, true gems of the Rhone Valley.

It is produced from a blend of 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier, coming from terraced plots on schistose and silico-calcareous soils in Côte-Blonde and rich in iron oxides in Côte-Brune. The winemaking involves manual harvesting and selection of the grapes, with regular pressing and control of the fermentation temperatures in closed stainless steel cuve for approximately three weeks. The refinement lasts at least 36 months in oak barrels, of which 50% are new.

At sight, it has a dark ruby red color. On the nose, it offers aromas of spices, small red fruits and delicate hints of wood. On the palate, the tannins are round and soft, with notes of raspberries, blackberries and vanilla. The whole is harmonious, with an imperceptible acidity and tannins suitable for good conservation, softened by prolonged aging in wood.

Perfect to accompany game, red meats and mature cheeses.
