Description
Joseph Drouhin’s Côte de Beaune Rouge is an elegant red wine produced in the renowned Burgundy region of France, on the hills above the town of Beaune. Made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, grown on light, well-drained clay and limestone soil.
The winemaking takes place in small open tanks, with spontaneous fermentation thanks to indigenous yeasts, for a period of 2-3 weeks. The winemaking process involves a careful selection of grapes, partly from the Drouhin family's properties and partly purchased from local producers, always following a rigorous quality specification. The wine is then aged for 12-16 months in French oak barrels, to add complexity and depth without overpowering the character of the fruit.
It presents itself with a splendid purple hue. On the nose, delicate fruity aromas such as strawberry and currant stand out, enriched by floral notes. In the mouth, the tannins are well rounded and fine, giving a silky sensation and an elegant finish.
This red wine pairs perfectly with red meat dishes, roast or grilled poultry and mature cheeses.
