Description
The Casalforte line offers a selection of traditional labels from the best Veronese enology. This Corvina Veronese is proof of this. The name is inspired by the Castle of Monteforte, a construction erected in the year 1000 to defend against enemy attacks.
It is obtained from the pressing of Corvina grapes with a high sugar content, vinified with the Ganimede system which consists in the continuous mixing of the marc in order to favor the extraction of coloring substances and tannin. The wine ages partly in steel and partly in wooden barrels for 12 months.
It shows an intense ruby red color. On the nose there are hints of black cherry and ripe blackberry, supported by light touches of vanilla and sweet spices. On the palate it is a pleasant, elegant and balanced wine.
At the table it goes well with red meats, game and long-aged cheeses.
