Description
Poliziano's Cortona Merlot In Violas was born from the discovery of the incredible potential of the international Merlot grape cultivated in the Pliocene clays of Cortona.
Merlot vinified in purity resulting from fermentation in truncated conical vats for 18-22 days with maceration on the skins, followed by aging for 16-18 months in French oak barrels.
Ruby red to the eye, it gives off a bouquet of notes of cherry, vanilla and oak, embellished with light touches of tobacco. Elegant and intense on the palate, it closes on a finish of remarkable persistence.
Perfect in the company of stewed or grilled red meats, it is ideal with a platter of aged cheeses.
