Description
The Corton Clos du Roy Grand Cru from Domaine Antonin Guyon is an exceptional red wine made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes. Located on the Côte de Beaune, the only red grand cru in the area, the vineyard extends over 55 hectares with good exposure in the commune of Aloxe-Corton. The clay-limestone soil, combined with 50-year-old vines, contributes to the depth and complexity of this wine.
The grapes are harvested manually in small crates, followed by a rigorous selection in the cellar. The vinification is long and takes place in wooden barrels with frequent pumping over and temperature control to optimize the extraction of aromas and tannins. The refinement takes place for 18 months in oak barrels, some of which are new, to give the wine aromatic complexity and an elegant structure.
This wine has a magnificent garnet color with a rich nose of blackcurrant and raspberry. On the palate it offers considerable depth with notes of vanilla and licorice. The structure is elegant and pure, with very fine tannins and an extraordinary length that makes each sip an unforgettable experience.
It pairs perfectly with roasted or sauced meats, such as duck or pheasant, as well as most cheeses.
