Description

The Spanna red produced by the Nervi winery comes from the area of the Novaresi hills, in that part of northern Piedmont which heads towards Lombardy.

It consists of a blend with a clear prevalence of Nebbiolo, 90% content, and a remaining 10% distributed between Vespolina and Uva rara. The grapes are harvested from the Valferana, Garavoglie and Casacce vineyards, located at an altitude of between 290 and 350 meters above sea level. It ages for about 18 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. A short passage in cement tanks follows before being bottled.

It is embellished with a bright ruby red color. The nose reveals ripe red fruit and berries, placed on a spicy background of wide spectrum but very delicate. The olfactory taste correspondence is precise and punctual, based on the fruit juice and fine tannins. The freshness and softness are intertwined in a balanced finish.

To be combined with a grilled sirloin in gorgonzola and walnut sauce.
