Description
Dalmore's Cigar Malt Reserve is produced in Alness, a town in the Highlands, on the spectacular Cromarty fjord of Scotland overlooking the North Sea. It comes from a first ageing in ex-Bourbon American oak barrels and then in rare and ancient barrels already used for the ageing of Sherry Matusalem Oloroso, to conclude with an ageing in barrels that previously contained Cabernet Sauvignon wine that enhances its finish floral and creates an unprecedented personality and structure.
In the glass it shows an amber colour tending to mahogany. The nose opens on spicy aromas of cinnamon and vanilla, accompanied by notes of red fruits. On the palate, it is rich and creamy, with hints reminiscent of tropical fruit that end on a finish of orange and bergamot.
This whisky is designed to be paired with a good cigar.
The deer that adorns each bottle of Dalmore is the emblem of the Mackenzie family, the historic owner of the Dalmore distillery.
