Description

The Chianti Rùfina Riserva Nipozzano by Frescobaldi was born in the vineyards of the Castello di Nipozzano, located in the Chianti Rùfina area.

It is mainly produced with Sangiovese and complementary grapes, such as Malvasia Nera, Colorino, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested by hand between the end of September and the beginning of October. The different varieties ferment separately in stainless steel containers, at a temperature below 30 °C for 13 days, then the maceration continues for 25 days with frequent pumping over. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is placed in second and third passage barriques where it ages for 24 months, then once bottled it rests in the cellar for another 3 months.

Nipozzano is characterized by a ruby red colour with purple reflections. The nose opens with fruity hints including notes of black cherry, morello cherry and undergrowth, enriched with floral flavours of violet and fresh licorice aromas. On the finish, spicy notes of cloves and nutmeg emerge. In the mouth it reveals a pleasantly heterogeneous tannic texture, a balanced freshness and a good liveliness, with a long and persistent finish.

Perfect to accompany grilled or grilled red meats, it is ideal in combination with roasts, especially lamb, and lightly aged cheeses.
