Description
Chianti Riserva Vitruviano by Cantine da Vinci belongs to the Vitruviano collection and hails from the rolling hills of Vinci and the neighboring towns, located in the province of Florence.
The wine is a blend of grapes, although Sangiovese is the dominant grape. The grapes are vinified in steel tanks at a controlled temperature (28-29 °C), where the maceration lasts about 12–14 days. During the vinification, numerous pumpovers are carried out, for the optimal extraction of colour and aromas. Ageing takes place in French oak barrels of 225 and 500 L. for 10 months.
In the glass, the wine is purplish red. The nose has fruity notes of cherry and currant, with spicy notes, especially vanilla and cinnamon. The taste is warm and structured, with silky tannins and balanced acidity. Long finish.
Chianti Riserva Vitruviano goes well with main courses of red meats and game, both stewed and roasted, but also with aged cheeses.
