Description
The Chianti Riserva from Cantine da Vinci originates on the gentle Tuscan hills of Vinci and the surrounding towns, located in the province of Florence. The wine is a blend of grapes, although Sangiovese is the dominant variety.
The grapes are vinified in temperature-controlled steel tanks (28-29°C), where maceration lasts about 12-14 days. Numerous remontages are carried out during vinification to optimize color and aroma extraction. The wine is aged in French oak barrels of 225 and 500 L for 10 months.
In the glass, it has a deep purple color. On the nose, it presents fruity notes of cherry and currant, with spicy hints, especially vanilla and cinnamon. The taste is warm and structured, with silky tannins and balanced acidity. Long finish.
It pairs well with main courses of red meats and game, both stewed and roasted, but also with aged cheeses.
