Description

The Chianti Classico Riserva of Castello di Volpaia is produced only from Sangiovese grapes grown organically from vineyards located at an altitude of 400-600 meters above sea level, from sandstone, clayey and sandy-silty soils with a high presence of skeleton.

The harvest is done manually in the second half of September and the grapes are vinified at a controlled temperature. After racking, it ages in French and Slovenian oak barrels for 24 months.

In the glass it has a medium intensity ruby red color, with slight garnet reflections. The olfactory profile is elegant and intense, with aromas of spices and fruity hints. On the palate it is structured and persistent, with an important tannic texture that gives great drinkability.

It goes well with main courses of red meat or game. Excellent with rosemary tagliata or with the classic Florentine.
