Description
The Chianti Classico Riserva of Villa a Sesta was born in vineyards located on the Sienese hills, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga.
It is produced with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested manually, then destemmed, crushed and placed separately in thermoregulated trococonical vats for vinification. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in about 7-10 days and the subsequent maceration on the skins lasts for another 10 days. Once blended, the wine ages partly in tonneaux and large barrels for 18 months and, once blended, continues aging for a further 12 months in oak barriques. Once in the bottle, it ages for a further 3 months.
Ruby red in colour, the nose reveals aromas of cherry, violet, tobacco, dark chocolate and spices. On the palate it is harmonious, with great balance and good structure.
Ideal to accompany first courses with rich game-based sauces, it is perfect in combination with stews and aged cheeses.
