Description
The Chianti Classico Riserva Tenuta Perano originates on the gentle slopes of Gaiole in Chianti, from vineyards facing south-west whose shape resembles that of an amphitheatre: this particular shape of the plants favours the insolation and concentration of heat. The set of soil and climatic conditions, such as altitude, exposure and slopes of the vineyards, represents an unicum in the Chianti landscape and gives the wine unmistakable characteristics. Here Sangiovese finds the ideal conditions to express its bursting personality in all its luxuriance and expressiveness.
After a manual harvest and a scrupulous selection, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. It ages in Slavonian oak barrels for a long period of time, at least 24 months, and this gives the wine that structural intensity, enriched by further ageing in the bottle, which is then found in the glass.
Brilliant ruby red with garnet reflections in the glass, it offers the nose with a generous intense and complex bouquet. The nose is immediately intoxicated by the floral scents, from the violets to the dog rose that softly fade into flavours of black currant and blueberry. But it is only by tasting it for a long time that you will perceive its background notes such as nutmeg and black pepper, but above all cocoa: on the palate it is a riot of aromas that close in a final of unequivocal beauty, on the noble notes of tobacco and leather.
From an excellent expression of pure Tuscanity as it is, it marvels a succulent Florentine. Try it with game and medium-aged cheeses.
