Description
The Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale di Ruffino was born in the vineyards of the Ruffino di Gretole estates, located in Santedame and Montemasso, in the Chianti Classico production area, between the provinces of Siena and Florence.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes and with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, harvested around the first week of September. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 27 ° C for about 10 days. Subsequently the wine ages partly in oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks for about 24 months, and for a further 3 months in bottle.
It is characterized by a ruby red color. The nose opens with elegant fruity hints of cherries, berries and plums, enriched with pleasant spicy hints of tobacco, cloves and white pepper grains. On the palate it is pleasantly fruity, with firm but gentle tannins, which enhance light spicy sensations. The wine has a persistent finish, of great freshness and pleasantly savory.
Perfect to accompany first courses based on meat and mushroom ragout, it is ideal in combination with risotto and salami.
