Description
The Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia di Fèlsina was born in the homonymous vineyard, whose name derives from an ancient farm in correspondence with a pre-existing Benedictine monastery, located in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in Tuscany.
It is produced with pure Sangiovese grapes, rigorously picked by hand from the first ten days of October. The grapes ferment at a controlled temperature of 28-30 ° C and are left to macerate for 16-20 days with punching down and pumping over, always at controlled temperature. Subsequently the wine is placed in first and second passage barriques and remains here for 18-20 months, then rests for another 6-8 months in the bottle.
It is characterized by an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with spicy hints, floral notes, aromas of small red and black fruits and a slight toasted nuance. Spicy hints return to the palate and presents young, consistent and soft tannins. Overall it is a wine with an engaging taste and good acidity, with a straight and tight finish.
Perfect to accompany first courses with meat sauce, it is ideal in combination with red meats, grilled red meats and game. Excellent also with aged cheeses.
