Description
Chianti Classico Querciolo is a pure Sangiovese produced with carefully selected grapes in the company's vineyards.
The vineyards are planted on soils composed mainly of clay and limestone. After manual harvesting, the grapes ferment for a maximum of 20 days at a controlled temperature before ageing a year in first and second passage French oak barrels. 12 months of bottle ageing follows.
Of a beautiful ruby red with garnet reflections, this Sangiovese expresses olfactory charge with notes of ripe red fruits, violet and cherry, also releasing a light toasting and spicy notes of black pepper and cloves. On the palate the tannin is smooth, good acidity and body consistency express great harmony. It remains a balanced wine with a long finish, capable of further evolving in the bottle.
It is ideal for grilled beef and sausages, pork with sauce or fettuccine with porcini mushrooms.
