Description

Cortevecchia is a Chianti Classico DOCG Biological Reserve produced by the Principe Corsini winery in the San Casciano area in Val di Pesa.

From aged vines located at an average altitude of 300 meters above sea level, the grapes to be fermented in steel tanks are obtained. Fermentation lasts 14 days at a temperature of 26 °C. This is followed by an ageing in 27-hectolitre oak barrels for 16–20 months and a further ageing in bottle for at least 6 months.

Of a beautiful intense ruby red, it releases floral hints of lavender and notes of cherry, dog rose and pomegranate to the nose. The density of citrus fruits returns to the palate, which meets floral touches and dried herbs, for a tasty and very fresh sip, finished with a long and pleasant spiciness.

Ideal with roasts and stewed meats, it goes well with first courses based on meat sauce and artichoke pie.
