Description
Castello di Albola's Chianti Classico Riserva is produced from a careful selection of Sangiovese grapes from 8 vineyards on the estate. It brings together various varietal nuances ranging from the fineness of the highest rows to the expressive strength of the lowest rows, which are affected by the heat of the earth.
The fermentation of the must takes place in steel for about 3 weeks. After the malolactic fermentation, it ages for almost 36 months, 14 of which spent in French Allier oak barriques and Slavonian oak barrels. The process is completed by an 18-month bottle ageing.
It shows a ruby red colour. The nose recalls intense aromas of berries, tobacco and licorice. On the palate it is enveloping and elegant, characterized by a pleasant freshness and a long persistence.
It goes very well with first courses with sauce and roasts but also with game and medium-aged cheeses.
