Description
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione San Lorenzo by Castello di Ama is born in vineyards located on the hills between Gaiole and Radda in Chianti, in the heart of Chianti Classico, in Tuscany. This wine takes its name from the magical valley overlooked by the eighteenth-century villas of Castello di Ama.
It is produced mainly with Sangiovese grapes and with Merlot and Malvasia Nera grapes, harvested exclusively by hand between the end of September and the beginning of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 30-32°C for approximately 21-23 days. The wine is then refined in barriques for 12 months and for a further period in the bottle before being released for sale.
It is characterized by a bright red color, with bright and intense reflections. On the nose it opens with aromas of wild berries, enriched by pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is elegant and refined, with a pleasantly fruity aftertaste.
Perfect to accompany roasts and game, it is ideal when paired with mature cheeses.
