Description
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione San Lorenzo di Castello di Ama was born in vineyards located on the hills between Gaiole and Radda in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico. This wine takes its name from the magical valley overlooked by the eighteenth-century villas of the Castello di Ama.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes and with Merlot and Malvasia Nera grapes, harvested only by hand between the end of September and the beginning of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 30-32 ° C for around 21-23 days. Subsequently the wine ages in barrique for 12 months and for a further period in bottle before being released on the market.
It is characterized by a bright red color, with bright and intense reflections. The nose opens with aromas of berries, enriched with pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is elegant and refined, with a pleasantly fruity aftertaste.
Perfect to accompany roasts and game, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses.
