Description
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Riserva Ducale Oro di Ruffino is born in the vineyards of the Ruffino di Gretole and Santedame estates, in the most prestigious production area of Chianti Classico, the Conca d'Oro. Born in 1947, to commemorate a great harvest, this wine is produced only in the best vintages, when the grapes meet the company's high quality standards.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes and with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for 10 days. The wine is aged for about 36 months in concrete and steel tanks, for 12 months in oak barriques and for a further 6 months in bottle, before being marketed.
It is characterized by a ruby red color. The nose opens with an intriguing bouquet, in which hints of violets and plums stand out, enriched by pleasant spicy notes of cocoa and cinnamon. On the palate it is of great structure and well balanced, with delicate tannins and a pleasantly long and persistent finish.
Perfect to accompany grilled red meats, it is ideal in combination with game and aged cheeses.
