Description
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione di Vallepicciola is made with the best owned Sangiovese grapes from the Castelnuovo Berardenga area.
The vines grow on soils composed mainly of clay and limestone with the presence of marl and alberese. After the harvest carried out in the first ten days of October, the grapes ferment in concrete tanks and then undergo malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. Aging takes place in barriques, tonneaux and large barrels for about 24 months with subsequent ageing in concrete for 3 months before bottling.
Intense ruby red in colour, it releases typical red fruits such as blueberry and blackberry, with floral returns of violet and tertiary hints of vanilla and tobacco. On the palate it expresses density and elegance, it is very balanced in the touch with soft tannins and a long finish.
Suitable for complex dishes, game, roasts and savoury first courses of the Tuscan tradition.
