Description

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione La Pieve is a red wine produced from Sangiovese grapes and other native vines grown in the best vineyards of Tenuta San Felice in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the province of Siena. The soils are medium textured, rich in skeleton and calcareous-marly clay.

The vinification begins with an alcoholic fermentation in steel, followed by a 22-day maceration at a temperature of 28-30°C. The wine then ages in French oak tonneaux for 24 months, completing its refinement in the bottle for a further 8 months, thus developing a robust structure and a complex aromatic profile.

It has an intense ruby red color and ample and persistent aromas. Notes of violet and blackcurrant intertwine with hints of tobacco and licorice, offering a full-bodied, soft and well-structured palate, defined by ripe tannins and a balanced acid component.

This Chianti Classico pairs beautifully with game dishes, roasts, grills and mature cheeses, enhancing the flavours of Tuscan cuisine.
