Description
Chianti Classico Vallepicciola is produced in the Vagliagli area (Castelnuovo Berardenga) from 100% Sangiovese grapes.
The vines are grown on clayey-limestone soils with the presence of marl and alberese in 22 different company parcels.
The yield per hectare does not exceed 65 quintals. The harvest takes place in the second ten days of September and the harvested grapes ferment in temperature-controlled steel vats before carrying out the malolactic fermentation in cement tanks. This is followed by aging in large barrels for about 12 months and refinement in the bottle for at least five months.
Brilliant ruby red in colour, it has notes of ripe cherry and blackberry, with some spicy and floral references. On the palate it is fresh, with a good structure, with soft tannins and good persistence.
Ideal for game and grilled meats, it also goes well with first courses of meat sauce and platters of fresh salami.
