Description
The Chianti Classico of Tenuta di Carleone was born in vineyards located in Radda in Chianti, in the province of Siena. The Carleone estate was founded in 2012 by Karl Egger, who with the help of his friend Sean O'Callaghan produces wines following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture and non-interventionist enology.
The wine is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, which are vinified in open concrete and steel tanks for 40-60 days. This is followed by refinement in concrete and steel tanks for 18 months.
Ruby red in colour, it opens on the nose with typical hints of sweet violet and red fruit such as cherry and red plum. The sip is dry and balanced, fine and with a long finish.
Excellent with grilled meats, blue cheeses and cotechino.
