Description
The Chianti Classico Riserva by Castello Monsanto was born in the municipality of Barberino Val d'Elsa, in the province of Florence, where Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes are mainly grown.
The 3 grapes are harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in truncated cone steel vats at a controlled temperature for about 20–22 days. Subsequently, the wine is aged in 500 l French oak barrels, partly new and partly second passage and for another 2 years in the bottle, before being put on the market.
The Castello di Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva has an intense ruby red colour. The nose opens with hints of ripe berries, in addition to balsamic and vegetable notes. The taste is warm and layered, with elegant tannins and a long persistence.
Perfect to accompany grilled red meats, stewed game and aged cheeses.
