Description

The Chianti Classico of Poggerino comes from the vineyards located in Poggerino, in the heart of Radda in Chianti.

It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, whose harvest takes place manually and lasts from the last week of September until the first 10 days of October. Fermentation follows at a controlled temperature of 28-30 ° C, with maceration in contact with the skins, in stainless steel tanks. The wine is transferred to Slavonian oak barrels and tonneaux where it performs malolactic fermentation, followed by 12-month maturation and, after assembly, a further period of aging in bottle lasting at least 8 months.

The Chianti Classico Poggerino is characterized by a bright ruby red color. The sense of smell proceeds on hints of blueberry, leather and red cherry, with pleasant returns of vanilla and licorice. In the mouth it is sweet and slightly tannic, with a beautiful persistence.

Excellent with lamb, it goes perfectly with red meats in general.
