Description

The Chianti Classico Il Palei of Villa a Sesta was born in vineyards located on the Sienese hills, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga.

It is produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes, harvested manually, then destemmed, crushed and placed separately in vats for vinification. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in about 7 - 10 days and the subsequent maceration on the skins lasts for another 10 days at a controlled temperature of 27°C. Once blended, the wine matures partly in wooden barrels and partly in oak barriques from the central French massif, medium toasting, for 12 months. Once in the bottle, it is aged for a further 3 months.

Palei is a classic wine, with a deep ruby red color with violet reflections. The scent is intense, rich in fruity aromas among which hints of cherry and blackberry notes stand out. On the palate it is harmonious, with great balance and good structure. Slightly savory and with a fine and sweet tannic component, it re-proposes the pleasant notes of red fruits of the bouquet in the mouth.

Ideal to accompany first courses with game-based sauces, it is perfect in combination with grilled red meats and aged cheeses.
