Description
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Gaudio is a red wine whose name, derived from the Latin “gaudium” meaning intense joy, reflects the sensation that this strong and elegant wine can convey. Produced with a selection of the best Sangiovese grapes and a small addition of Cabernet Sauvignon, coming from the oldest vineyards of the Carus estate, located in Val di Pesa, one of the most important historical areas of Chianti Classico thanks to the soils rich in galestro and alberese.
The grapes are harvested by hand, with yields of 50 quintals per hectare for Sangiovese and 45 quintals for Cabernet Sauvignon. The vinification involves aging in French oak barrels, followed by refinement in the bottle for a total of 30 months.
It has an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. On the nose it offers a complex and fine bouquet, with fruity notes of ripe cherry and spicy nuances of cocoa. On the palate it is fresh, rightly tannic, with a blackberry aftertaste that enhances its structure and elegance.
It pairs perfectly with grilled meats, mixed roasts and aged Tuscan pecorino cheeses.
