Description
Mazzei's Chianti Classico Fonterutoli is born on the Castello di Fonterutoli estate, located in the province of Siena, on the hills overlooking the Val d'Elsa, in the heart of the Chianti Classico area.
It is produced with 90% Sangiovese grapes and 10% Malvasia Nera and Colorino, selected from the 120 different company parcels. The grapes are harvested strictly by hand starting from the end of September and are fermented and macerated for 16-18 days at a controlled temperature of 26-28°. The wine then undergoes a period of refinement in oak barrels, 40% new, for 12 months, before being bottled.
It is a wine with an elegant body and very well proportioned. On the nose it presents aromas of berries, enriched by pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is soft and intense.
Perfect with aged cheeses, it is ideal to accompany tasty first courses, game, grilled red or white meats, stews and casseroles. Also excellent with fried vegetables.
