Description
The Chianti Classico Fonterutoli of Mazzei was born in the Castello di Fonterutoli estate, located in the province of Siena, on the hills overlooking the Val d'Elsa, in the heart of the Chianti Classico.
It is produced 90% with Sangiovese grapes and 10% with Malvasia Nera, Colorino and Merlot, selected from the 120 different farm parcels. The grapes are rigorously picked by hand starting from the end of September and are fermented and macerated for 16-18 days at a controlled temperature of 26-28 °. Subsequently, the wine undergoes a period of aging in oak barrels, 40% new, for 12 months, before being bottled.
It is a wine with an elegant body and very well proportioned. The nose has aromas of berries, enriched with pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is soft and intense.
Perfect in combination with aged cheeses, it is ideal to accompany savory first courses, game, grilled red or white meats, stews and stews. Also excellent with vegetable fries.
