Description
The Chianti Classico Riserva Bugialla di Poggerino comes from vineyards located in Poggerino, within the renowned municipality of Radda in Chianti, in the province of Siena.
It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, harvested entirely by hand in the last week of September. The best grapes give the must which will ferment without the addition of selected yeasts at a controlled temperature of 28-30°C in stainless steel, with maceration in contact with the skins. The wine is transferred to Slavonian oak barrels where the malolactic fermentation takes place, followed by 18 months of maturation in the same containers and a further 12 months bottle refinement following assembly.
Poggerino's Chianti Classico Riserva Bugialla has a bright ruby red colour. The nose reveals pleasant notes of blueberry, leather and cherry, with a touch of graphite and tobacco. Sweet and balanced on the palate, it closes with evolved tannins of pleasant persistence.
Particularly suitable to accompany lamb and grilled meat in general, it goes well with aged cheeses.
