Description

The Chianti Classico Brolio-Brolettino di Barone Ricasoli originates from vineyards located on the hills of Gaiole in Chianti, in the historic area of Chianti. This wine is dedicated to Bettino Ricasoli, who created the formula for the production of Chianti and tries to faithfully reproduce its style.

It comes from a clear prevalence of Sangiovese and Colorino grapes, harvested with careful selection of the bunches in the vineyard. Vinification takes place traditionally in small steel vats for 12-16 days, with contact maceration on the skins, at a temperature of 24-27 ° C. Then the wine rises for 18 months in large barrels, completing its aging in bottle with a stop for a further 3 months before being marketed.

With a ruby red glass, it opens to the nose with a fruity aroma, with hints of cherry jam which are supported at a later time by pleasant balsamic and spicy notes. On the palate the wine is broad, elegant and savory, with silky tannins and a pleasantly fresh and persistent finish.

Ideally served with the hearty and tasty first courses of Tuscan cuisine, it goes well with red meats and medium-long-aged cheeses.
