Description
The Chianti Classico of Badia a Coltibuono is born in the Poggino, Vignone, Montebello and Argenina vineyards, located in Monti in Chianti, in the province of Siena.
It is produced with Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo and Colorino grapes, grown under organic farming and harvested manually between the second half of September and the first half of October. The grapes ferment naturally on indigenous yeasts, then they are left to macerate for 3 weeks, with fulling and delestage. The wine ages for 12 months in French and Austrian oak barrels before being bottled.
This Chianti Classico has a strong ruby red color. The nose opens with floral aromas of iris and violets, enriched with notes of morello cherry and nuances of tobacco and black pepper. On the palate it is dry, with a good balance between acidity and tannins. In the mouth there are hints of minerals and red fruits, with notes of leather and coffee.
Perfect to accompany savory first courses, it is ideal in combination with red meats and aged cheeses.
