Description

Clos des Papes Rouge is produced in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape area, in the southern Rhone with a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.

24 hectares, spread over various plots, are dedicated to the production of this red, which represents 90% of the company's production; the cultivation has been certified organic since 2011. After fermentation, the wine is aged in large oak barrels for a period ranging from 12 to 15 months.

At sight it is intense and brilliant ruby red. Red fruits such as raspberry emerge clearly on the nose followed by spicy tones distributed between black and white pepper and a slight mentholated trail. In the mouth the body is full and refined by a compound tannin and an enviable structure that gives freshness and enjoyment. It closes with a spicy and herbaceous intertwining of long persistence.

Excellent to combine with a grilled rack of lamb or first courses based on meat sauce.
