Description
The Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge by E. Guigal is a prestigious wine from the southern Rhône Valley, appreciated for the richness and roundness of its tannins, the result of careful selection and assembly by Marcel and Philippe Guigal.
It consists of a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and other red grape varieties from approximately 50-year-old vineyards located on soils of galets roulés (pebbles from the Rhone Valley) and red clays. Winemaking follows traditional methods, with controlled fermentation and maceration temperatures for approximately three weeks. Aging takes place for 36 months in oak barrels.
At sight, it presents a beautiful dark and deep red shade. On the nose, it offers aromas of spices and small ripe red fruits with notes of jam. On the palate, the tannins are round, with notable complexity and power. The wine is rich, full and velvety, with notes of ripe plums, stones and red fruits. The whole is harmonious and well balanced.
Perfect to accompany feathered game, it pairs well with spices and in general with red meats and cheeses.
