Description
The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot comes from vines of at least 40 years of age located in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, in the renowned Côte des Blancs. The parcels come from the areas called "tête de clos", "petit clos" and "fairande", on a calcareous soil in the upper part and more clayey in the lower part, ideal for the cultivation of Chardonnay.
The harvest takes place by hand with selection in the vineyard, followed by slow pressing and alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in partially new French oak barrels. It refines for at least 18 months on its own yeasts and then continues with assembly in steel tanks one month before bottling.
Golden yellow in color with greenish reflections, it reveals toasted and citrus scents on the nose, accompanied by a mineral background. In the mouth it is dense and complex, with a persistent finish.
Perfect to serve with poultry or fish-based dishes, it pairs well with cheeses such as Comté or Beaufort.
