Description
Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers is a high-quality white wine produced by Domaine Guy Amiot et Fils, a historic estate located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the Burgundy region of France. Made with 100% Chardonnay grapes from 70-year-old vines, this wine comes from a 0.55-hectare vineyard with a North-East exposure and clay-limestone soil.
The winemaking follows traditional practices that aim to respect the unique terroir of Burgundy. After manual harvesting and a rigorous selection of the grapes, the must is fermented in French oak barrels, where the wine ages for approximately 12 months.
It has a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals a fresh and refined bouquet with floral scents, white fruit such as pear and mineral notes. On the palate it is very fresh and dynamic, with hints of tea and almond, ending with a persistent mineral finish. It shows excellent balance and a great capacity for aging, making it ideal to be enjoyed five to eight years after the harvest.
This white wine pairs perfectly with fine fish dishes, shellfish, white meats and soft cheeses.
