Charmes-Chambertin AOC Grand Cru Les Mazoyeres 2021 Domaine de la Vougeraie

The Domaine de La Vougeraie Charmes Chambertin AOC Grand Cru Les Mazoyeres comes from a vineyard of less than one hectare, located halfway up the coast with eastern exposure. The vines, planted in 1901/1902, are Pinot Noir on a clayey silt soil, with a density of 10,000 plants per hectare. Organic farming has been practiced since 1998 and biodynamics since 2001.

Vinification includes 10% of the entire harvest, with cold pre-fermentation maceration for 5 days and a total of 20 days of maceration. The aging lasts 16 months in wooden barrels, with 20% new barrels.

This wine is characterized by its depth and aromatic complexity showing a complement of red fruits, berries and wood notes, balancing elegance and power, typical of the great Burgundy wines.

Ideal for special occasions, it pairs beautifully with red meats, game and mature cheeses.
