Description
La Grande Dame Rosé is a bold champagne like the woman to whom it is inspired, Madame Clicquot, the famous and ambitious widow, in French "veuve", which gave a strong boost to the quality of this denomination. A Champagne Rosé with 92% Pinot Noir grapes and only 8% Chardonnay. Among the vineyards of origin of Pinot Noir we mention the Clos Colin in Bouzy, one of the oldest plots of the Veuve Clicquot estate.
In the glass it boasts a rose gold color, crossed by slight copper reflections. The nose displays opulent hints of raspberry and strawberry that are involved with complex aromas of red grapefruit, Rooibos tea and fine leather. On the palate it enters on tiptoe, with softness and a body in evidence, to then show off its range of red and black fruits in a vigor and youthfulness that finds the touch of grace in smoked hints and dried flowers that define one unparalleled aromatic richness, up to the best Pinot Noir from Champagne.
Divine on beef and shrimp ravioli, it goes very well with lamb dishes or stuffed tomatoes.
