Description
The Champagne La Grande Année of the Champagne Bollinger winery is born in vineyards cultivated on the hills of Aÿ, in the French region of Champagne.
It is produced 66% with Pinot Noir and 34% with Chardonnay grapes and the wine is aged in oak barrels and aged in the cellar for more than twice the time required by the denomination.
La Grande Année has a golden straw yellow color, a sign of maturity. The nose opens with hints of fruit in alcohol and toasted bread, deriving from the aging in cask, subsequently enriched by nuances of exotic spices and rhubarb. In the mouth it reveals a powerful but very soft perlage, with a remarkable structure and a long and persistent finish.
Perfect to accompany fish dishes, both raw and grilled, it is ideal in combination with shellfish, especially lobster. Also excellent with lamb and medium-aged cheeses, such as Parmesan.
