Description
Femme de Champagne is produced by the Duval-Leroy house, founded in 1859 and located in the Côte des Blancs of the Champagne region.
It is the result of a delicate blend of the best Grand Cru parcels of Champagne (Avize, Chouilly, Le Mesnil sur Oger, Ambonnay). The grapes are vinified in stainless steel vats and wooden barrels. Up to 13% of the blend is aged in oak barrels to add structure and enhance the velvety texture of this cuvée. After bottling, this champagne is aged on the lees in the chalk cellars of the house for more than 6 years.
The colour is straw yellow with golden reflections, and the perlage is fine and persistent. To the nose, it has floral and yellow fruit aromas, with hints of citrus and biscuits. In the mouth, it is silky and well-balanced between freshness and flavour.
Excellent with oysters and shellfish, but also with game birds.
