Description
The Maison Mumm has been famous for centuries for being the champagne of kings, first and foremost the English royal family, as demonstrated by the Royal Warrant that adorns the neck of its bottles. The symbol of the quality of the maison is the famous red ribbon which makes the cuvées of the GH Mumm maison immediately recognisable and which has made Cordon Rouge a true icon of Champagne.
Champagne Grand Cordon originates from grapes of the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier varieties from over 100 crus, each with unique peculiarities. The blend is completed by a substantial percentage of reserve wines which gives greater depth to the product.
It has a golden yellow color and a very fine and lively perlage. On the nose there are intense aromas of ripe fresh fruit, among which white peach and apricot stand out, enriched by aromas of tropical fruits reminiscent of litchi and pineapple. It closes on notes of vanilla, toast, honey and dried fruit. In the mouth it is extraordinarily fresh and persistent, with an elegant caramel finish.
Excellent as an aperitif, it is perfect to accompany white meats, fish and cold cuts.
The red silk ribbon, engraved directly into the glass of the new iconic bottle, was initially affixed to the bottles intended for the maison's most prestigious clients and became so famous that it was associated with the style of Mumm champagne itself.
