Description
The Champagne Saint Thierry Extra Brut by Chartogne Taillet is a fine expression of the village of Merfy, located on the southern slope of the Saint-Thierry Massif, north-west of Reims. This Champagne comes from the Les Grands Champs parcel, once cultivated by the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of Saint Thierry, and reflects the chalky and mineral temperament of the local terroir thanks to the presence of chalk in the subsoil and the location on the slopes.
Produced exclusively from Chardonnay, the manual harvest of the grapes follows a careful and traditional winemaking process, using only indigenous yeasts and fermenting in oak barrels. This method preserves the integrity and expressiveness of the vine.
Visually, the wine has a straw yellow color and a fine perlage. On the nose, floral and fruity aromas emerge, with pleasant hints of bread crust that add complexity. In the mouth, it is intensely mineral and persistent, exhibiting a well-structured and nuanced palate.
Perfect to accompany appetizers, fish, shellfish and cheeses. It is ideal for celebrating special occasions or to enrich a refined dinner, offering a tasting experience that enhances the flavors of the table.
