Description
Pol Roger's Champagne Extra Brut Pure is a refined expression of the historic Maison of Èpernay. The result of a balanced blend of the three classic grape varieties of the Champagne region: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The grapes come from 30 different Crus located between the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte de Blancs.
After harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed and fermentation takes place separately for each grape variety in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The base wines mature for several months and undergo malolactic fermentation before being blended to create the final cuvée. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Champenoise method, followed by at least 48 months of aging on the lees to develop depth and complexity.
This Champagne has a bright golden yellow color and a very fine perlage. On the nose it offers a complex bouquet of floral notes, fresh citrus, bread crust and light spicy hints. On the palate it is vibrant and well structured, with a notable flavor and freshness, accompanied by hints of green apple and a long and persistent finish.
Perfect to enjoy as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with fresh oysters or sushi.
