Description
Champagne Brut Apanage 1874 from the famous Maison Pommery is an exclusive cuvée celebrating the 150th anniversary of the creation of the world’s first Brut Champagne. This special edition reflects Madame Pommery’s historic decision to produce a dry Champagne. The wine is a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, with grapes sourced from 17 selected villages in Champagne, mainly from the Montagne de Reims.
The production process includes vinification in stainless steel to maintain freshness. The cuvée undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method, with an aging on the lees for at least 48 months before disgorgement. This long aging enhances the complexity of the wine, enriching it with mineral nuances and giving a creamy texture to the palate.
It stands out for its pale yellow color with golden reflections and a fine and delicate perlage. On the nose it presents a bouquet of white flowers, such as hawthorn and jasmine, accompanied by fresh citrus notes of lemon. The initial aromas open on more complex and toasted nuances, such as acacia honey and brioche. On the palate, notes of white nectarines emerge, balanced by a fresh minerality. It has a long and enveloping finish, characterized by delicate notes of citrus peel.
Ideal as a refined aperitif, this Champagne pairs perfectly with white meats and fish dishes, enhancing the most delicate preparations throughout the meal.
