Description
Patrick Piuze's Chablis La Grande Vallée is a wine of notable provenance, originating from the famous lieu-dit 'Les Pargues' located in the valley between the 1er crus Vaillons and Montmains, an area historically appreciated by the Cistercian monks who have delineated these vineyards for centuries does. This special terroir is treated by Patrick Piuze with the same attention reserved for his 1er and Grand Cru labels.
The hand-harvested Chardonnay grapes are vinified in wood rather than stainless steel, a method that allows for a deeper and more complex expression of the wine. A brief refinement on the yeasts is carried out, giving the wine structure and complexity without overpowering the varietal characteristics.
It has a golden yellow color, which heralds a fragrant and floral bouquet with a profusion of fruit. On the palate, the wine is rounded, expressing white peach, bitter lemon and orange peel, proving extremely generous with an irresistible finish and nuances of Mirabelle.
It is excellent in combination with fish, shellfish, crab and lobster dishes. Its richness and structure combine perfectly with the delicacy and freshness of marine flavours, making it an ideal companion for a refined dinner based on seafood dishes.
