Description
Castel del Monte Nero di Troia Riserva Puer Apuliae di Rivera was born in vineyards located in the municipality of Andria. Its name "Puer Apuliae" or son of Puglia refers to the emperor Frederick II of Swabia, who with the Castel del Monte left an indelible mark on these lands.
The wine is made up of 100% Troy grapes, which are vinified in steel tanks for 16 days. The wine was then transferred to French oak barriques and tonneaux to age for 14 months. This is followed by 12-month bottle refinement.
Intense ruby red in color with violet hues, it opens to the nose with an intense bouquet of blackcurrant and violet, followed by hints of star anise and face powder. The sip is warm and intense, with a long and dense finish.
Excellent in combination with roasted red meats, game and aged cheeses.
