Description
In this box with an entirely Tuscan soul, you can find the Brunello di Montalcino from Fattoria dei Barbi, the emblem of the winery and its first distinctive feature. It matures for 2 years in barrels of increasing capacity. In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red color. It has a characteristic spicy aroma of pink pepper that is compared with a rich aromatic range based on aromatic herbs, plum, blueberry and touches of rhubarb. The taste is structured and persistent, with fleshy tannins that are almost chewy, complemented by an adequate freshness. Excellent with stewed red meats or game, it enhances tasty and well-aged hard cheeses.
Rosso di Montalcino is the more youthful and casual side of its older brother Brunello, more suitable for everyday consumption. Resulting from refinement conducted partly in steel tanks and partly in oak barrels, it appears in the glass with a lively ruby red color. The nose tells of intense hints of cherry and red fruits, accompanied by light floral and spicy notes. Pleasant and ready to drink, this Rosso di Montalcino is a medium-bodied wine, rightly tannic, perfect for accompanying roast or grilled meats and medium-aged cheeses.
Rosso dei Barbi is instead the result of experimental cultivations, in which the vines were planted with different clones of Sangiovese not registered with the DOCG Brunello di Montalcino. It is a fresh and straightforward wine, without pretensions, but which expresses in its simplicity all the capacity and style of the winery. It is a wine that does not see the wood, with a bright ruby red color. On the nose, hints of cherry stand out supported by spicy and floral flashes. On the palate it is fresh and slightly tannic, pleasantly persistent. Excellent to accompany first courses, as well as pizzas and rustic pies.
