Description

In this box with an entirely Tuscan soul, it is possible to find the Brunello di Montalcino from Fattoria dei Barbi, the emblem of the winery and the first distinctive feature. It ages for 2 years in barrels of increasing capacity. In the glass it shows a brilliant ruby red color. It has a distinctive spicy scent of pink pepper that compares with a rich aromatic range based on aromatic herbs, plum, blueberry and touches of rhubarb. The taste is structured and persistent, with fleshy tannins that can almost be chewed, complemented by an adequate freshness. Excellent to combine with stewed red meats or game, it enhances tasty and well-seasoned hard cheeses.

Rosso di Montalcino is the more youthful and disengaged side of the older brother Brunello, more suitable for daily consumption. Resulting from an aging carried out partly in steel tanks and partly in oak barrels, it appears in the glass with a lively ruby red color. The nose tells of intense hints of cherry and red fruits, accompanied by light floral and spicy notes. Pleasant and ready to drink, this Rosso di Montalcino is a medium-bodied wine, rightly tannic, perfect for accompanying roasted or grilled meats and medium-aged cheeses.

Rosso dei Barbi, on the other hand, is the result of experimental cultivation, in which the vines were planted with different Sangiovese clones not registered in the DOCG Brunello di Montalcino. It is a fresh and straightforward wine, unpretentious, but which expresses in its simplicity all the capacity and style of the cellar. It is a wine that does not see wood, with a brilliant ruby red color. On the nose there are hints of cherry supported by spicy and floral flashes. The taste is fresh and slightly tannic, pleasantly persistent. Excellent to accompany first courses, as well as pizzas and rustic pies.
