Amarone Valpantena DOCG, Valpolicella Ripasso DOC
Summary
- Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena DOCG, 0.75 l
- Valpolicella Ripasso DOC, 0.75 l
Description
Amarone and Ripasso Bertani are emblematic labels of Valpolicella, a blend of the indigenous Corvina Veronese and Rondinella grapes, with small additions of Merlot in the Valpolicella Ripasso alone. Both tell the Venetian production tradition: the drying that Amarone undergoes for 120 days characterizing its production method and the Ripasso technique in which the wine is refermented on the Amarone pomace.
Amarone has an intense red color with garnet hues, the result of an aging of about 6 years in Slavonian oak barrels and a further 12 months in the bottle. The nose releases characteristic notes of plum, cherry and morello cherry, followed by aromas of dried fruit, licorice and spices. On the palate it is soft and balanced, with tannic notes, ideal to accompany game, mature cheeses but also to be tasted in moments of meditation.
Valpolicella Ripasso is a wine that ages in Veronese Bertani French oak barrels for 9 months. It has an intense purple color with violet reflections. The nose is intense, teeming with hints of ripe red fruit, blackberry, currant and cherry, to name a few. In the mouth it is velvety and harmonious, full and lively, with a savory aftertaste. It is perfect with porcini mushroom risotto, pasta dishes, grilled meats and roasts.
