Summary
- Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Valpantena Bertani, 0.75 ℓ
- Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Bertani, 0.75 ℓ
Description
Bertani's Amarone and Ripasso are emblematic labels of Valpolicella, a blend of the native Corvina Veronese and Rondinella grapes, with small additions of Merlot in the Valpolicella Ripasso only. Both tell the story of the Venetian production tradition: the drying that Amarone undertakes for 120 days characterizing its production method and the Ripasso technique in which the wine is refermented on the Amarone pomace.
Amarone has an intense red color with garnet hues, the result of approximately 6 years of aging in Slavonian oak barrels and a further 12 months in the bottle. On the nose it releases characteristic notes of plum, cherry and morello cherry, followed by aromas of dried fruit, licorice and spices. On the palate it is soft and balanced, with tannic notes, ideal to accompany game, mature cheeses but also to be enjoyed in moments of meditation.
Valpolicella Ripasso is a wine that ages in Bertani Veronese French oak barrels for 9 months. It has an intense purple color with violet reflections. The nose is intense, full of hints of ripe red fruit, blackberry, currant and cherry, to name a few. In the mouth it is velvety and harmonious, full and lively, with a savory aftertaste. It is perfect with porcini mushroom risotto, first courses, grilled meats and roasts.
