Description

This box contains two typical and representative Piedmontese expressions of the Asti area offered by the Michele Chiarlo winery.

Barbera d'Asti Le Orme comes from vineyards located south of Asti. It is made with 10 days of maceration on the skins. As the name suggests, once the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are complete, it is aged in steel for 16 months. It has a ruby red color with purple reflections. The nose revolves around fruity notes of raspberry and cherry that open the way to an elegant spicy component. Fresh and savory on the palate, it barely lets you perceive its tannins that integrate perfectly with its body and make the drink more intriguing. It lends itself to pairing with roasts and stewed red meats but can also accompany a good pizza.

Moscato d'Asti Nivole comes from vineyards located on soils composed of marine sediments and white earth. The harvest is followed by a light pressing and fermentation in an autoclave at a controlled temperature, a phase in which its typical effervescence develops. It has a straw yellow color. The olfactory profile is a combination of floral notes and aromas of sage with fruity hints. The sip is lean and smooth, pleasantly fresh. Excellent to pair with desserts especially those based on hazelnuts.
