Carmignano DOCG 2020 Fattoria di Bacchereto
Description
Carmignano by Fattoria di Bacchereto is a structured red wine produced in Tuscany, composed of a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo. The vineyards, with an area of 8 hectares, are located on soils derived from Alberese-type marly limestones, clayey shales and sandstones, and have an average age of 30 years.
The winemaking involves destemming, maceration and alcoholic fermentation for 15 days in vitrified concrete vats, followed by malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place in 350 liter Allier oak tonneaux on fine lees for 26 months, followed by at least 6 months in the bottle, giving the wine notable complexity and structure.
Carmignano stands out for its power and concentration, initially austere but with great aging potential. Over time, it reveals the great elegance and beauty of Sangiovese, resulting in structure, volume and determination.
This wine pairs perfectly with a Florentine steak cooked on charcoal.
